Abstract

Pain is one of the most burdensome symptoms for patients with epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and, owing to disease heterogeneity, pain management requires an individualized approach. This meta-analysis identified nine studies: of those, four topical and one systemic study reported a significant improvement in pain scores. The variety of different tools used for measuring pain underscores the importance of fostering harmonization in patient-reported outcome measurement tools, especially in pain.
