Informal Caregiving for Patients with Dementia in Salzburg

The PAiS research project investigated the burden experienced by family caregivers of people with dementia in rural areas of the province of Salzburg, as well as the availability and utilization of support services. The study identified gaps in existing services and formulated recommendations for optimization.
Family-oriented support measures were highlighted, specifically tailored to the care situations of families in rural Salzburg where a member is living with dementia.
The project and its results contributed directly to protecting family caregivers from excessive strain and achieving a sustainable improvement in regional care provision.
