Project Partners: Institute of Sports Medicine, University Clinic for Geriatrics at the Hospital Salzburg
As part of the ALFIT study, a program of progressive resistance training using exercise therapy equipment was tested for its effectiveness in improving strength, endurance, and balance among geriatric day clinic patients in Salzburg. In addition, motivation, training experiences, and impacts on participants’ daily lives were examined. Positive effects were identified. The training program was subsequently implemented in nursing homes.
