Abstract
Blood gas analysis is one of the standard diagnostic procedures in hospitals. Like sonography, the method can increasingly be used outside the hospital thanks to mobile devices. Many years of experience in the care of seriously ill and injured patients may suggest that pre-hospital emergency care may benefit from its use. The cases presented show how pre-hospital use of blood gas analysis diagnostics can provide important hints and allow therapeutic and organizational consequences to be drawn for further care.
